This course introduces the fundamental principles of Western astrology. You’ll learn to read birth charts, understand planetary influences, and explore how celestial patterns reflect life on Earth. No prior knowledge is needed—just curiosity and an open mind!

Weekly Breakdown

Week 1: Introduction to Astrology

Topics Covered:
What is astrology?
Difference between astronomy and astrology
Brief history of astrology
Types of astrology (Western, Vedic, Chinese)
The concept of "As above, so below"

Objectives:
Understand astrology as a symbolic language.
Distinguish between myth and method.


Week 2: The Zodiac Signs

Topics Covered:
The 12 zodiac signs & their symbols
Aries (Fire) → Pisces (Water)
Elements: Fire, Earth, Air, Water
Modalities: Cardinal, Fixed, Mutable
Yin vs Yang signs
Polarities & oppositions

In Focus:
Cycles of nature and the zodiac
Personality archetypes & their expressions

Objectives:
Recognize sign traits and elemental qualities.
Begin interpreting zodiac placements.


Week 3: The Planets

Topics Covered:
Inner vs Outer Planets
Sun → Pluto

Planetary symbolism and meanings:
Sun = Self | Moon = Emotions | Mercury = Mind | Venus = Love | Mars = Drive | Jupiter = Expansion | Saturn = Discipline | Uranus = Change | Neptune = Dreams | Pluto = Transformation

Planetary dignities (optional intro)

Week 4: The 12 Houses

Topics Covered:
What are astrological houses?
House system overview (focus on Placidus or Whole Sign)

The 12 Houses and their domains:
1st = Self | 2nd = Money | 3rd = Communication | 4th = Home | 5th = Creativity | 6th = Work & Health | 7th = Relationships | 8th = Transformation | 9th = Philosophy | 10th = Career | 11th = Community | 12th = Spirituality

Objectives:
Understand how houses give context to planets and signs.
Begin identifying life areas affected by planetary placements.


Week 5: Aspects – Planetary Relationships

What are aspects?
Major aspects: Conjunction (0°) | Trine (120°) | Square (90°) | Sextile (60°) | Opposition (180°)
Orbs and influence strength
Interpreting planetary conversations

Objectives:
Recognize aspects in a birth chart.

Week 6: Reading the Natal Chart

Topics Covered:
What is a natal chart?
The Ascendant (Rising Sign) ➜ Personality filter
Midheaven ➜ Career & public image
Chart rulers & dominant elements
Putting it all together: Planet + Sign + House + Aspect

Workshop: Hands-on practice with sample charts

Objectives:
Begin reading a natal chart holistically.
Gain comfort identifying chart components.


Week 7: The Moon & Emotional Intelligence

Topics Covered:
The importance of the Moon sign
Moon phases and their influence
Lunar cycles and personal rhythm
Emotional needs, childhood patterns, and comfort zones

Objectives:
Deepen understanding of the inner self.
Track personal emotions using the Moon.


Week 8: Practical Astrology & Ethics

Topics Covered:
Transits: Planetary movement and timing
Retrogrades: What do they really mean? (Ex: Mercury Retrograde)
Solar Return charts
Ethical considerations in reading charts
Beginner do’s and don’ts
How to practice safely and respectfully

Final Workshop:
Interpret your own chart
Practice peer readings
Course completion certificate awarded
